Like to appreciate the joie de vivre? Well you can in more ways than one next year, because that’s when boutique luxury river cruise line Uniworld will launch its latest Super Class vessel on France’s Seine River.
The 128-passenger Joie de Vivre will sail the Paris and Normandy itinerary and was constructed to the shorter length of 410 feet instead of the ships’ usual 443 feet, so that it is able to dock directly in the country’s legendary capital.
The sailings offered by the stylish new ship are designed to explore everything that France is famous for, highlighting food, wine, art and music. That’s not just when you step ashore either, as the ship, which will make her debut next March, will feature a Salon de Beaux-Arts lounge which houses a selection of art and antiques acquired from world-famous auction houses like Sotheby’s and Christies.
Elsewhere on-board, guests can enjoy the Le Club l’Esprit pool area which boasts a hydraulic floor which turns into a dance floor or outdoor cinema by night. There will be two dining venues to choose from, namely the main restaurant Le Restaurant Pigalle, and the private-dining La Cave de Vins, which as you may have guessed, has an on-going wine theme, so expect some fine French vintages to accompany your meal.
In true Uniworld style, each suite and stateroom on-board will be unique and have its very own design, but whichever you choose, you can look forward to Savoir of England beds, a marble bathroom and of course butler service, thanks to the line’s on-going association with its sister company, Red Carnation Hotels.
