Here at River Voyages, we have recently started taking booking for river cruise adventures with the excellent Scenic Tours river cruise line. To celebrate this relatively new partnership, this blog will take a look at the many fantastic features and facilities found on-board Scenic’s river cruise vessels, so you know what to expect before you come aboard.

Ships

The Scenic Tours fleet consists of 10 elegant and feature-packed river cruise ships. Often referred to Scenic ‘Space-ships’, these vessels each boast of plenty of space and privacy for guests to enjoy as they cruise along the majestic waterways of Europe and Russia. The fleet includes the Scenic Crystal, Jade and Jewel – launched between 2012 and 2013 – as well as the Scenic Diamond, Sapphire, Pearl and Ruby, which sail along the Rhine Danube and Moselle. The line’s other vessel include the newly-refurbished Scenic Emerald and the Russia-bound Scenic Tsar, as well as the Scenic Gem – due to launch in 2014.

Accommodation

A range of wonderfully spacious and lavish suites and staterooms are available to book aboard Scenic’s fleet of majestic river cruise vessels and every guest will be provided with a personal butler service. Although an array of accommodation is available to passengers travelling with Scenic Tours, the most opulent suite found on-board is the tremendous Royal Suite, offering guests over 300 square feet of space, an outdoor balcony, a large bathroom and a selection of marvellous amenities, from luxurious linens to fast Wi-Fi internet connection.

Dining

Choose from a plethora of excellent dining venues distributed across the vessel, offering plenty of options to suit even the fussiest of eaters. Enjoy the sophisticated ambience of the Crystal Dining Room, and use the open-seating policy to sit with friends and chat as you feast on delicious and lovingly-prepared dishes created by expert chefs.

You can also enjoy speciality dining at Portobello’s Italian Restaurant or al fresco dining at on the Riverview Terrace. The River Cafe and Gelati Bar offer a casual venue in which to enjoy a snack, whilst in-suite is also on offer to those who prefer the ambience of their accommodation.

Innovative Features

A number of innovative and entertaining features are built into Scenic Tours’ vessels, including plenty of ways to keep fit as you cruise. You could spend time working out in the Fitness Centre or set a pace around the walking track. Alternatively, the Wellness Area and Sun Deck offer the perfect place to unwind and relax.

The ship’s also feature a reception desk at which the crew will be happy to assist you with any queries, as well as a terrific on-board gift shop, providing the perfect place to purchase some gifts and souvenirs.

Personalised Service

Scenic Tours pride themselves on the dedicated and personalised service that they provide for their passengers. Every member of the on-board crew, including the knowledgeable Cruise Director, will be on-hand to help you wherever possible, not matter how small a request you may have.

Every guest on-board, regardless of their accommodation category, will also enjoy the services of a personal butler. Your personal butler will carry out a wide range of tasks for you, from fetching your complimentary drinks and delivering canapés to your room, to shining your shoes and helping you unpack.
