Following on from last month’s announcement of its extensive expansion, ultra-luxury ocean line Crystal Cruises has just revealed more details of its plans to enter into the world of river cruising in March 2017.
The line is eager to point out that it is responding to the demands of its existing luxury-loving clientele and that its two river cruise ships will be a natural extension of Crystal’s ultra-luxury
ocean experience, transported to the rivers of Europe.
But what will make them so different from the other river cruise ships out there? Well, the largest space to guest ratio in the industry for one thing, along with a six-star service and a new approach to itineraries. The ships, described by Crystal as ‘river yachts’ will cater to 140 guests each and will feature 70 suites of 250 square feet each, boasting king size beds, walk-in wardrobes and his and hers vanities in the bathrooms. For those who really want to indulge, two 500 square foot Penthouse Suites are also available, while Crystal’s hallmark sleek and stylish public areas will be very much in evidence, including Palm Court, which will feature a dance floor and a glass-domed roof. As the above concept art shows, these ships are set to be seriously stylish on the outside too.
When it comes to exploring, the line will carefully plan its itineraries so as to offer cruisers as much time in port as possible and deviate as much as it can from the most popular routes, with a view to offering a more exclusive river cruise experience.
The Crystal ships are set to explore a host of fascinating destinations in such culturally-rewarding countries as France, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium and Austria, so watch this space for more information on both the ships and the itineraries they offer.
