Focusing on nature and continuing their commitment to protecting the environment, CroisiEurope is becoming one of the greenest river cruise lines.
The cruise line has always reflected on how it can better protect the environment, with recent tests resulting in lower emissions. Following conclusive tests on the Seine River with its partner, AS Energy, CroisiEurope has implemented GTL fuel – a cleaner-burning alternative to diesel – which reduces emissions.
Other environmental initiatives include the installation of water-saving devices, which reduce freshwater consumption by 35%.
These were installed alongside wastewater evacuation systems across the entire fleet, where systems empty into wastewater treatment facilities or urban sewer systems during ports of call.
Each of the cruise line’s ship engines also respects the strict European standards to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and limit fuel consumption when cruising with the latest on-board technology.
There’s also insulated ventilation in the engine rooms to reduce noise pollution, alongside electric buses on selected excursions in Paris so you can enjoy the peace and quiet on the move.
When in port, CroisiEurope also connects to power supply terminals where possible and most of the ships are equipped with energy-efficient electrical devices.
For life on-board, plastic straws are being replaced progressively with biodegradable paper straws, and the cruise line plans on converting from plastic cups in the future too. Cleaning products used on-board are also biodegradable and environmentally-friendly.
CroisiEurope’s stance on being environmentally-friendly is longstanding, with the commitments going way beyond legal obligations. The cruise line continues to reflect on what can be done to ensure conscientious cruising can be enjoyed by everyone.
